McFly – One For The Radio June 3, 2008

Oh no! What a terrible week it is if even McFly can be doubted! The usually faultless McFly premiered their new single on Radio 1 this weekend just gone. ‘One For The Radio’ is the first single since the pretty chaps left Island records to start their own label, and boy you can tell.

Radio rips aside, it sounds like they’ve got some production money, but oh how bitter they sound. The whole track is about how the nation take the piss out of them and how they’re only seen as a pop band. I’m upset. The song itself is essentially brilliant, wonderful tune, great big opportunities for punch the sky moments but it just needs a different bloody subject. McFly never took themselves this seriously.

At least it isn’t as bad as Ballad of Paul K. And at least they’re still hot.

I have no idea who you are or why you believe you know what Mcfly are thinking etc but I have to disagree. Firstly, the ‘whole’ nation does not take the piss out of them and i have no idea where you get that from. If that was the case they wouldn’t have had more number ones that Queen, Robbie Williams etc. They are talking about a few morons who secretly buy their records whilst publicly pretending they don’t to their ‘mates’. It is apparently ‘cooler’ to say you like Coldplay or Razorlight than Mcfly. In whose world????? Not mine. I love this bands music. Absolutely think Coldplay are the dullest band EVER! I get absolutely fed up of idiots writing blogs like this. Yes you say you love the song, so why add in for good measure that you hate the lyrics and that the guys are bitter etc? To make yourself look ‘cool’ perhaps???? I rest my case. This song will go straight to number one as will their album and on that note if they want to stick the proverbial finger up to the morons who absolutely cannot stand how successful they are, then i’ll join them in the queue to do it. So while they are probably the biggest band in the UK this decade, I think they can afford to let the wannabe’s know how they feel!!
